Virtual sessions are delivered via two online training sessions, on two separate days and you must attend both sessions for your chosen course.
Face to face sessions are delivered via one session running 10:00 -15:30.

Course outline:
The process of receiving informed consent is a key component of ethical research standards. This course is aimed at research staff working in NHS research and social care settings who are involved in the recruitment of people to research studies.
Topics covered within the course include an awareness of the law and consent, the consent process, the skills and knowledge necessary and ethical issues in consent. Delegates will be expected to participate in group work exploring legal and ethical issues in consent within research scenarios.
Please note a certificate of attendance will only be issued if delegates complete all elements of the training.
Following the training, participants will be able to:
- Describe the legal framework relating to receiving informed consent in research, including the incapacitated adult and children
- Explore the practical application of ethical principles in the day to day conduct of informed consent in research
- Link quality informed consent processes to the GCP guidelines
