Ineligible Public Involvement
We've created the below guide to help deal with situations where members of the public involved in research projects are ineligible. This guidance document is a collaboration between Health and Care Research Wales, the National Institute for Health Research, the Chief Scientist Office, and Health and Social Care Northern Ireland. It's been specifically requested by research teams, public involvement leads, and public contributors who've come across cases of ineligible involvement.
In this document, you'll find examples that show how to spot potential instances of ineligible involvement and strategies for dealing with this. It also gives practical tips on how to improve safeguards to prevent ineligible involvement in research projects.
Over the next six months, we're running a consultation period to gather feedback on the document's content. This process aims to make sure the guidance provided is thorough and helpful. During this time, we'd like your input on various aspects, such as your thoughts on the document's content, suggestions for improvements, and any other needs or recommendations you may have.
Your participation in this consultation will let you contribute to the document's development and ensure it remains relevant and effective. We want you to make sure it's suitable for its intended use and provides reliable guidance for those facing these situations.
