Woman having a vaccine

Four ways COVID-19 vaccine research is changing the lives of people in Wales

Vaccines are amazing, they protect people of all ages against disease and now more than ever they’re a vital part of our healthcare. COVID-19 vaccines are changing and saving the lives of people across the world and this is only possible due to research.

Since March 2020 vital coronavirus vaccine studies have been happening all over the UK, including in Wales. The Welsh research community has played a key role in the development of multiple vaccines.

We asked those who were involved with vaccine research and members of the public what this critical work has meant for them in their lives, this is what they said:

1. Giving a way forward

2. Feeling more protected

3. Less isolation

4. Seeing family and friends again
