Apply now for a chance of winning the Health and Social Care Research Partnership Award with Industry supported by Health and Care Research Wales. The award will be presented at the seventeenth annual MediWales Innovation Awards on 8 December 2022.

This award is for Welsh health professionals, clinicians, or health boards that have partnered with industry to deliver a project or developed a collaboration with a particular focus on health or social care research. Projects should have a positive impact on the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of the people in Wales.

Now more than ever, it is important to celebrate achievements in industry, health technology and healthcare. The MediWales Innovations Awards bring together industry, academics and the clinical community to create new opportunities and celebrate latest achievements.

The event will feature a number of awards across industry and health sectors:

2022 Health awards categories:

• Health and social care research partnership awards with industry supported by Health and Care Research Wales

Last year’s winners of the Health and Social Care Research Partnership with Industry Award were Hywel Dda University Health Board’s TriTech Institute and Bond Digital Health (BDH) for their smartphone app, which allows patients to take control of their chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Professor Keir Lewis, Clinical Respiratory Lead at Hywel Dda University Health Board, accepted the award. Keir said:

It is an honour to accept this award on behalf of the partnership. Through the COPD Pal app we wanted to give patients greater control over their condition and we’re pleased that 89% of them said they would use the app regularly.”
