Living with the pain of arthritis is a challenge for patients, their carers, employers and clinicians. The Osteoarthritis Technology Network led by Cardiff University hosting a public lecture by Professor Philip Conaghan MBBS PhD FRACP FRCP, Director of the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Leeds, and Director of the newly awarded NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre.

At this event Professor Congahan will be discussing his research which focuses on understanding the causes of, and developing effective therapies for, common arthritis and joint problems. He has previously chaired NICE osteoarthritis clinical guidance, is co-editor of the Oxford Textbook of Rheumatology and has authored/co-authored over 650 publications as original research, reviews and book chapters. He has received multiple international research awards including the Carol Nachman award for Rheumatology and the Elise Jourdevant prize.
