Become a member of patient advisory group at Cancer Research UK
Are you interested in research and helping us shape cancer care for breast, prostate and bowel patients?
Cancer Research UK's (CRUK) ‘Test, Evidence, Transition’ programme aims to help health services adopt new approaches to improve cancer outcomes. CRUK would like people affected by bowel, breast or prostate cancer to join a Patient Advisory Panel and help guide the direction and focus of this new programme of work.
As a member of the advisory group, you will:
- Prepare for meetings by reading briefing documents, ready to share your thoughts and feedback
- Review applications for funding received from research teams by providing your thoughts on the potential impact and relevance of the research and your views on their involvement of patients and the public.
- Give your views about whether the needs and benefits of people affected by cancer have been considered in the design and delivery of the research.
- Suggest ideas about how to raise awareness of the programme and share results of projects. This includes the option to participate in a promotional video.
To become a member or a co-chair you don't have to have prior knowledge of Cancer Research UK or an understanding of research or science.
For more information about the programme and the registration process visit the CRUK's website.
If you have any questions, would like to find out more about the role, or require support filling out the application form, contact the team via a phone or via an email.
