Have you ever taken sodium valproate to help control epilepsy?

Researchers from Cardiff Metropolitan University are interested in finding out more about how women of reproductive age who have epilepsy make decisions about using sodium valproate.

Sodium valproate is a prescription medication that is sometimes used to control epilepsy. The brand names for sodium valproate are Dyzantil, Epilim, Episenta and Epival.

The researchers would like to hear from women who have epilepsy and:

1. Currently, or have ever, taken sodium valproate to control their epilepsy;
2. Have ever talked with a healthcare professional about sodium valproate as a potential treatment option for their epilepsy.

Being part of the study will involve taking part in an informal interview, which will be a friendly chat about your experiences with sodium valproate prescription and reproductive healthcare (e.g., family planning, preconception planning). This should take no more than an hour of your time. Interviews will be held online at a time and date that suits you.
