Share your preferences for different food products with researchers

If you are interested in sharing your preferences for different food products researchers from the Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research (CADR) are looking for participants to complete a two-hour session in the laboratory about their preferences for different product features. 

This involves completing some survey-based questions and eye tracking measures. The researcher will also ask you to consume a sample of food in the laboratory as part of a product taste test and to complete a short VR exercise in a simulated supermarket. 

In order to participate in this study, you must: 

  • Be aged 40 – 54 yrs OR 55+ yrs old
  • Be a current resident living in the UK
  • Be community-dwelling (i.e., living at home)
  • Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (i.e., normal vision with or without glasses)
  • Be able and willing to consume a small portion of a test food (e.g., ice cream)
  • Be able to provide written consent for the study (via a tick-box form at the beginning of the survey) and be able to follow written instructions throughout
  • If aged 40 – 54 yrs, you must also identify as a person who has or will experience menopause 

You MUST NOT: 

  • Have any dietary restrictions (food allergies/ intolerances) or follow a special diet (vegetarian/ vegan diet)
  • Have a current or historical diagnosis of eating disorders
  • Be currently on a diet
  • Be diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment or dementia
