Submit your abstract for the Health and Care Research Wales conference 2023

Health and Care Research Wales is inviting abstract submissions for the upcoming Health and Care Research Wales conference, taking place on 12 October 2023 at the Swansea Arena in Swansea. The conference theme this year is "People make research" and we welcome submissions for TED-style talks and posters. 

We encourage researchers, industry professionals and individuals involved or interested in research in Wales to share their experiences and insights related to the conference theme of "People make research".  

We are particularly interested in abstracts on these topics: 

1.Health and Care Research Wales funded projects and initiatives 

We encourage researchers and professionals involved in Health and Care Research Wales funded projects to submit abstracts highlighting their findings, methodologies and outcomes. Abstracts in this category should emphasise the significance and impact of these projects on improving health and social care services in Wales. 

2. Routes into research and career development  

This topic invites people to share their journeys and experiences related to entering the research field and progressing in their careers. Abstract submissions could cover various aspects, such as training opportunities, non-traditional research career pathways and research culture. The aim is to inspire and inform others interested in pursuing research, offering guidance on alternative routes and highlighting the diverse nature of research careers. 

3. The impact of public involvement in health and social care settings 

This may include research projects actively engaging members of the public in the study design, implementation, analysis and dissemination process. Speakers can share their experiences and insights on the impact of involving the public in research and even invite a patient representative to join them on the stage.
