NIHR Public Health Research Funding Committee Chair

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is seeking to appoint a leader in the field of public and population health research, to undertake the duties of Chair for the NIHR Public Health Research (PHR) Funding Committees.

The Funding Committee Chair will be responsible for leading one of the main PHR funding committees and commissioning a large portfolio of research. Other responsibilities will include contributing to the strategic development of the PHR programme and representing the Programme Director.

Successful candidates will have enthusiasm for and experience of public and population health research, sound knowledge of the public health research landscape across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, mixed methods research knowledge, excellent communication and negotiating skills, proven ability to chair large committees effectively, and a track-record of research leadership and involvement in commissioning research.
