A year in numbers - our public involvement community
The contributions of the public play a crucial role in shaping the direction of health and social care research in Wales. As we reflect on the past year, we want to celebrate the achievements and invaluable contributions the members of our public involvement community have brought to research.
Since April 2023, members of our involvement community have helped shape more than 70 research studies. From mental health studies to women's health initiatives, your voices have helped guide research across a diverse range of fields. This incredible number highlights the growing importance of public involvement in research and we couldn't be more grateful to you for sharing your experiences with us and researchers in Wales.
Emma Langley, Public Involvement Coordinator at Health and Care Research Wales, said:
By helping shape research, you make sure studies are designed to look at the specific needs and concerns of the Welsh public, patients and service users. Your involvement has also helped strengthen and expand our research community which now has over 550 members."
To every member of our involvement community, we thank you. Your dedication and enthusiasm are inspiring and we look forward to embarking on many more exciting research adventures in the years to come.
