Dr Rhys Bevan-Jones

Research Interests: Visual and digital media in mental health informs research, teaching and public engagement activities.
Biography
Rhys is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences, Cardiff University, and a Consultant Psychiatrist with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. He is dual-trained in both child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. In addition to his medical training, he has a degree in illustration and animation, and is interested in the role of visual and digital media in mental health.
Rhys has been awarded two Health and Care Research Wales/National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) fellowships
i) a Doctoral Fellowship to co-develop and evaluate, and
ii) a Post Doctoral Fellowshipto refine and conduct a feasibility trial of 'MoodHwb' a bilingual digital programme for depression/anxiety in young people.
He recently started a Health and Care Research Wales Advancing Researcher Award to explore digital and youth mental health, and mental health difficulties in the transition from child to adult life.
