Have you been in labour or given birth at home or in a birth centre and needed to be transferred to hospital?

Help researchers understand the impact this transfer may have by sharing your experience about the transfer?

What experience do I need to help?

 You will need to:

  • have planned to have your baby at home or in a freestanding midwifery-led birth centre
  • have needed to be transferred to hospital either in labour or just after having your baby
  • be available to attend an online meeting on either Thursday 17 October 19:00-20:30 or Friday 11 October 13:00 – 14:30.

More information

Researchers want to talk to people who had to be transferred from home or a freestanding midwifery-led birth centre to a hospital during labour or shortly after giving birth. Through this research, the team are aiming to use the information to help shape future research into transfers to hospital.

What will I be asked to do?

You will be invited to an online meeting to share what you think others should know about being transferred and help shape what future research should look at in relation to transfers. You will also be asked to help create a survey for a larger group to capture their experiences.

How long will I be needed for?

You will be asked to attend a one and a half hour online meeting and to read a short piece of information about the project.  You can attend one of the following dates:

  • Thursday 17 October 19:00 – 20:30
  • Friday 11 October, 13:00 – 14:30

Please let us know which date you would like to attend.

If the project is funded there may be an option to be involved in the project further.
