Healthcare Heroes: Tomorrow’s World

Join Wrexham University academics for a special Wrexham Talks Research public lecture following the Healthcare Heroes event with the theme of ‘Tomorrow’s World’. Hear about what is next for healthcare education as well as the cutting-edge research academics are leading on to transform healthcare.

Find out about ongoing projects in collaboration with local health boards and the Maelor Academic Unit of Medical and Surgical Sciences. Discover how research and investments in transformative technology equips Wrexham University graduates to work in practice in a wide range of healthcare careers serving the local community.

  • Dr Liz Cade - Building a resilient healthcare workforce – a mixed-methods study in occupational therapy students undertaking role-emerging placements
  • Sara Oxbury-Ellis - The development of student-led observational and debriefing tools in healthcare education
  • Professor Stephen Fôn Hughes - Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board-Maelor Academic Unit of medical and Surgical Sciences (BCUHB-MAUMSS) - An innovative approach to collaborative working, staff development and promoting lifelong learning of healthcare professionals

A food and drinks reception will start at 16.30 before the lecture at 17:00. There is also half an hour after the lecture dedicated to networking.
