Have you accessed treatment for fatigue caused by a long-term condition?

Help researchers improve fatigue diagnosis and treatment.

What experience do I need to help?

 You will need:

  • to have lived with two or more long-term medical conditions that have caused lasting fatigue
  • to be comfortable sharing your experiences with researchers

It would be beneficial if you have seen a doctor to discuss your fatigue symptoms at some point.  We are particularly interested to hear from people who have taken part in a course or visited a special clinic to help with their fatigue.

 More information

The research team want to understand what happens when people living with long-term conditions go to their doctors to discuss the symptoms of fatigue. The more medical conditions a person has, the more likely it is they will experience fatigue.

Fatigue can be caused by several conditions and can require different investigations or treatment options.

The research team is developing a project to understand what is being offered and if they are meeting people’s needs. They want to hear what has happened to people with lived experiences of fatigue, how they think the healthcare system could be improved and what people do to manage their daily fatigue.

What will I be asked to do?

You will be asked to attend a one-hour meeting and provide feedback on your experiences of fatigue treatments and investigations as well as how you manage your own symptoms.

You may also be asked to be a part of ongoing development and will then be required for four additional one-hour meetings. You will also be required to read or review documents for around 30 minutes prior to these meetings.

How long will I be needed for?

One hour in total for the first meeting.

You may also be asked to be a part of ongoing development – which will mean you will be needed for up to four additional one-hour meetings, with 30 minutes of reading and reviewing documents before each meeting.
