  • experience of supporting a child or young person who has sought help for self-harm or suicidal behaviours
  • experience of an aftercare /safety plan following such an event

More information

Researchers want to understand how parents and caregivers help when their child or a young person (up to age 18) has self-harmed or shown suicidal behaviour at places like the emergency room, a children's hospital ward, or mental health services. They want to ensure their research is focusing on what's important to caregivers.

What will I be asked to do?

  • Focus of the study
  • How important is it for you to be part of the safety planning process
  • What other issues should they be thinking about
  • Understanding of "safety planning" and other terminologies to describe it

If the study gets funded, then you may be asked to join the advisory group.
