Health and Care Research Wales’ Senior Research Leaders are prominent researchers who lead, mentor, and advocate for health and social care research in Wales.
They support the Health and Care Research Wales Faculty, and contribute to funding panels, advisory boards, and UK-level research initiatives.
You will provide invaluable feedback on applications and help choose the next group of Senior Research Leaders.
What will I be asked to do?
You will participate in a one-day panel meeting on 27 February 2025 where you will review applications and contribute to the selection process for the Senior Research Leaders Scheme.
You will also need to attend a one-hour pre-meeting to prepare for the panel and review the applications which could take up to one day.
How long will I be needed for?
The main panel meeting will be held from 9:00 am - 17:00 and there will be a one-hour pre-panel meeting that you will need to attend and review of the applications which could take up to one day.

Our team will:
- Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
- Offer payment for time of £150.00 per day (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).

What support is offered?
The Faculty team will provide support and will designate a contact person to guide you through the process.
Before the panel, you will meet with the Faculty team who will explain what’s expected and answer any questions you may have.
