Could you be the new Chair of the Health Research Authority?
22 February
The Health Research Authority (HRA) is looking for a new Chair to lead its Board.
The HRA protects and promotes the interests of patients and the public in health and social care research.
The new Chair will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the UK’s position as a global leader in health and social care research.
This comes after Professor Sir Terence Stephenson stepped down on 31 January 2025.
The position requires a confident, experienced leader to represent the HRA at a national level, ensuring the organisation continues to foster public trust and drive high-quality research.
Responsibilities include overseeing strategic direction, maintaining strong relationships across the health sector, and leading the Board in its governance and regulatory functions.
The role is a two-day-per-week commitment for a term of up to four years.
Applications close at midday on 25 February 2025 and more details can be found on the gov.uk website.
