Do you have an experience with head and neck cancer as a patient or a carer?

Researchers are looking for individuals to provide feedback on a study to help improve head and neck cancer treatment. 

Researchers at the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre at Cardiff University are looking for people with lived experience to provide valuable feedback on a clinical trial to help improve the experience of future patients.

What experience do I need to help?

• Experience with head and neck cancer as a patient or carer
• Willingness to share thoughts and experiences in a group discussion
• Understanding of the patient experience, including treatment and care pathways

What will I be asked to do?

You will be asked to review a document outlining the study summary and take part in a 1.5-hour online focus group discussion.

How long will I be needed for?

This is a one-time commitment and you’ll be needed to around 2.5hours (1 hour for document review and 1.5-hour online meeting)

What support is offered?

• Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
• Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits)
• A dedicated contact person for any questions
• An experienced lay PPI lead will be present during the focus group to offer support
• Signposting to relevant PPI training resources
• Reasonable travel expenses and additional carer/childcare costs covered if applicable
