Help develop a programme for the treatment of Prolonged Grief Disorder
The National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH), funded by Health and Care Research Wales, had approval for their first intervention development project, which will focus on Prolonged Grief Disorder. They are working to develop a digital guided self-help programme for the treatment of Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). The digital treatment will be developed in collaboration with people with lived experience of PGD and professional experts in the field.
PGD is a mental health problem that is characterised by longing or preoccupation with the deceased, accompanied by intense emotional pain, which has lasted for 6 months or more and has significantly affected the person’s ability to function. It is also linked with sleep issues, physical health problems and the development of other mental illnesses.
If you've experienced problems with your mental health after the death of a loved one and would like to help NCMH researchers develop a new treatment, complete the form on their website to be contacted.
