Research Midwife - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board

This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a Research Midwife to become part of the research delivery team supporting research in Cardiff and Vale.

They are seeking to employ a band 6 Registered Midwife with either Research and/or midwifery experience with an interest in research.  Based at University Hospital of Wales and working across both the obstetric and gynaecology portfolio, the post holder will contribute to the assessment and management of the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials. This will include the recruitment, education, monitoring of trial patients, the collection and documentation of accurate data.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the obstetrics and gynaecology research portfolio, managing recruitment of research participants into studies, set-up and closure of studies, data management and reporting metrics in line with key performance indicators for research in Wales. The post holder will be qualified as a midwife and have research or extensive clinical experience and possess excellent clinical skills. The post holder will be expected to work closely with directorate colleagues in order to deliver a quality research service, enhancing the patient experience and providing reputational excellence for Cardiff and Vale Research Delivery teams.

Contract type: Fixed term - 12 months
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: Band 6: £37,898 to £45,637 a year per annum
