Dr Laura Bunting

Laura is the Research Infrastructure and Experimental Medicine Lead at the Research & Development Division in Welsh Government. She oversees the management of the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure.  She engages widely with senior academics and research leaders, managing the process for collating performance metrics across the infrastructure and managing the competitive process for groups seeking funding. Leading on experimental medicine, Laura is responsible for liaising and collaborating with other UK funders, representing Welsh Government on various UK-groups and contributing to UK-level strategy development.

Prior to joining Welsh Government in 2019, she worked in higher education as an academic in the area of health psychology, before transitioning into research management in the areas of neuroscience and mental health.

As the Research Infrastructure Lead, Laura oversees the management of the Health and Care Research Wales Research development infrastructure.
