Be part of a type 2 diabetes remission services patient advisory group
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Diabetes UK are running a new service called NewDAWN to help more people newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and living with obesity or are overweight to achieve remission from diabetes.
The research is being led by a team at the University of Oxford and will support patients to experiment with different weight loss diets to find one that is suitable and effective for them.
The project team is looking for members of the public living with type 2 diabetes to be members of the patient advisory group (PAG). The patient advisory group gives you the opportunity to influence the research and provide feedback as the research team carry out the trial. For example, patient advisory groups have good ideas about how to recruit participants or present results.
The group will have to join an online meeting once every three to six months, each meeting lasts about an hour. The PAG maybe asked to do some reading of less than two to three pages before the meeting.
Members of the PAG will receive an honorarium.
If you have any questions about becoming part of the patient advisory group, please email Nicola Guess.
