Developing Welsh translations of research outcomes

The Centre for Healthcare Evaluation, Device Assessment and Research (CEDAR) works with the Welsh Value in Health Centre to translate and validate health questionnaires called PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures). PROMs are a set of questions completed by patients which help us understand symptoms and quality of life and they are used by the NHS to assess and improve the treatment and care that it provides.

As part of the translation process, they are required to test the Welsh translation with Welsh speakers to ensure the materials are easily understood by all Welsh speakers and they have the same meaning as the original English version. Each PROM requires feedback from a minimum of 5-10 Welsh speakers with specific health conditions.

CEDAR is currently looking for Welsh speakers with various health conditions to help with this work. If you are a Welsh-speaker and would like to take part or find out more about this work, please read the information leaflet and complete the short online form.

By completing the form your details will be added to a secure database and you may contacted to help in the future.
