Have you experienced cancer as a patient or carer and want to help shape cancer research?
The National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) is looking for people diagnosed with cancer and carers of people living with cancer to become members of the NCRI Working/ Study Groups to help shape cancer research. By becoming a member you would contribute to the design and development of the research, ensure it's practical and relevant and directly benefits cancer patients and their carers.
The NCRI Groups bring the cancer research community together to develop practice-changing research, from basic to clinical research and across all cancer types. They work to improve the scientific understanding of cancer, develop cancer treatments and to lessen symptoms and improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
The list of groups which are currently recruiting include:
- Bladder and Renal
- Clinical and translational Radiotherapy
- Lung
- Pancreatic
- Pathology
- Prostate
The NCRI is committed to working to advance cancer research with input from cancer patients and carers. They ensure that the patient voice is not just represented, but has a clear purpose and genuine value across all NCRI activities, shaping actions at a national level.
