Do you work in a care home?
Care home residents are under-represented in research despite often having complex care needs. Brittany Nocivelli, funded by Health and Care Research Wales, and the research team at Cardiff University would like to increase the number of opportunities for care home residents to be included in the research.
A toolkit of resources to support residents in sharing their research participation wishes and preferences has been developed during so far. The research team wants to make sure that the resources are useful and appropriate for residents wishing to take part in research.
To do this they would like the members of the care home staff working with residents to join their Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group and review the resources in the toolkit. If you decide to help shape this research documents relevant to the project (e.g. recruitment adverts, participant information sheets, consent forms) will be sent to you to look at and a virtual meeting will be held around a week later with all the PPI members to share feedback.
Contact Brittany Nocivelli for more information and become a member of the group for the ENGAGE2 project.
All PPI members will receive £25 per hour in recognition of their time.
