Have you gone through menopause?

Researchers from Swansea University are looking for women aged 45 to 65 who are post-menopausal and willing to be involved in an eight-week study. Each participant will be randomly assigned to one of the following study groups:

  • Group 1 will go through eight-weeks intervention through exercise.
  • Group 2 will be asked to adopt Mediterranean diet alongside exercising.
  • Group 3 will act as a control group and will not have change their lifestyle at all.

The study aims to gain better insights whether lifestyle modification can be an alternative treatment against conditions such as type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease. The increase in exercise and adoption of Mediterranean diet can promote heart and metabolic health benefits thanks to a hormone called ghrelin.
