Help researchers understand what women need and value when making decisions about miscarriage care
Have you experienced a miscarriage and feel able to share your experiences?
When someone is first told they are experiencing a miscarriage, they may need to decide how they wish to manage it. This often involves choosing between:
- Expectant management : waiting for the miscarriage to happen naturally without intervention
- Medical management : taking medication to help start or speed up the miscarriage process
- Surgical management : having a procedure to remove the pregnancy tissue
Rebekah Da Silva Teixeira, Professor Jacky Boivin and Dr Sofia Gameiro, from Cardiff University, supported by the Women’s Health Research Wales Centre and Health and Care Research Wales, would like you to fill in a survey exploring what women find helpful when making these decisions, including the support and information they received, and how satisfied they feel with the decisions they made.
You can take part in this survey if you:
- Were assigned female at birth and are 18 years or older
- Can read and write in English
- Have experienced a miscarriage at 12 weeks or earlier within the last 18 months and you received medical care for it in the UK.
