A mother reunited with a child.

How are children returning home from care reunited with their parents?

Are you a social care professional in Wales?

Researchers from the Children’s Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE) are looking for professionals working in local authority social care services across Wales to find out their opinions about children returning home from care.

Returning home means any child placed in care out of their home who then returns to live with their parents. Some children still have a Care Order when living with their parents, however, for this study, these children would be counted as having returned home.

The survey will ask you about the circumstances in which you think children returning home from care to live with their birth families works successfully and what you feel are the barriers to it being successful. It will also ask you about any practices employed in your local authority to support children to return home, how effective these practices are and how they could be improved.
