Eye test.

Take part in a study testing a new way of detecting glaucoma

Glaucoma is the world's leading cause of irreversible blindness, affecting approximately 500,000 people in England and Wales and 80 million people worldwide. The REVAMP (Research and Evaluation of Area-Modulation Perimetry) study, which is sponsored by Cardiff University, is investigating ways to detect glaucoma earlier, identify its progression earlier and with greater precision than current methods in Wales, Scotland and England.

To help them develop the new test, they would like people aged 40 or over with glaucoma (either Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) or Normal Tension Glaucoma (NTG) and people aged 40 or over with no eye conditions, to come for some visual field tests.

If you decide to take part you will be invited to come for two visits within a 6-week period to one of the following sites of your choice for some short visual field tests:

You will undertake some common clinical tests when you first arrive for your research appointment, to confirm that you are eligible to participate.

If you would like to sign up to the study, please contact the research team.
