Connect-Collaborate-Create: Communities shaping the Future

The Local Challenges Research Office (LCRO) at Swansea University is passionate about connecting and collaborating with local communities. They are hosting a community event to bring together people who work in or with communities in the region. This is a space to connect, share good ideas and practice, and explore what the university might bring to the table.

This event is a public collaborative space to share, explore, and discuss approaches to working with communities. An opportunity for partnership building and training open to anyone interested in local work, the LCRO will be sharing insights and experiences of community work and the role of Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy (SHAPE) disciplines in creating sustainable positive local change. They will be hosting lightning talks to spark inspiration, breakout opportunities offering training on co-creation methods, interactive displays to connect community members and researchers, and a space to share interpretations of local history.

Collaborators include:

  • Together for Change
  • Tai Tarian
  • African Community Centre
  • Swansea Council Local Coordinators
  • Dr Ella Rabaiotti, Swansea University
  • Dr Joe Janes, Swansea University
