Faculty webinar – Upcoming changes to regulations around research involving human participants with Catherine Johnston

This webinar will focus on the expected upcoming changes to the Good Clinical Practice regulations and the update to the Declaration of Helsinki. It will look at the practical implications and considerations of these updates for staff working in health and social care research.

Catherine Johnston

Cat is the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training Manager at Health and Care Research Wales. She manages the research training programme across Wales and works collaboratively with the national Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) as part of their GCP Leads group. She is passionate about the impact high quality training can make to research delivery and, ultimately, to the wellbeing and experience of our participants.

She has previously worked in the NHS as a Clinical Studies Officer across a wide range of different non-CTIMP study types in health and social care, and in Cardiff University as a Trials Manager in CTIMP studies. Prior to working in research Cat trained as a genetic counsellor at Cardiff University, and previously worked in a variety of third sector organisations and in international development.
