Faculty webinar - "Every failure is a piece of important knowledge." Experiences and insights from re-applying for research funding with Dr Marlise Poolman
Marlise was the co-Chief Investigator on the NIHR-funded CARiAD feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial exploring (lay) carer administration of as-needed subcutaneous medication for breakthrough symptoms in people dying at home.
In this webinar Marlise will reflect on the highs and lows of the process of getting funding for CARiAD, which involved several submissions and resubmissions. She will talk about finding the energy and enthusiasm to keep applying and knowing what to change and what to stick with with the application. She will also discuss dealing with feedback from reviewers without getting disheartened and the (eventual) joys and rewards which includes the successful implementation into clinical practice.
