How effective is it to have Social Workers in Women's Prisons?
This online event will present the second set of findings from a three-year evaluation of the Together a Chance service, a pilot project being delivered by the Prison Advice and Care Trust (Pact) where social workers are placed in women’s prisons.
The Social Worker based in the prison works with mothers where there is a risk of family breakdown. The Social Worker works closely with the children’s Social Worker, as well as other professionals within the prison and in the community, to ensure that mothers who are incarcerated
- are involved in decision making
- represented at key meetings
- empowered to remain engaged in their children’s lives.
The presenters include Alyson Rees and Charlotte Waits from CASCADE at Cardiff University and Jo Mulcahy from Pact.
This event is being run by the CASCADE and the Pact, for more information contact the team.
