The human rights situation of older people living in care homes

Care homes for older individuals in Wales and other countries are subject to numerous concerns around how to best protect residents’ dignity and equality within institutional settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the human rights situation of care home residents stood out, accounting for around 40% of all COVID-19 related deaths during the first waves of the pandemic.

Dr Caroline Emmer from King's College London will be addressing issues concerning the human rights situation of the elderly living in care homes as well as discussing what changes are necessary in law, policy and practice to strengthen human rights protection in these settings.

This webinar is part of the Online ExChange Wales Autumn conference series called Home Comforts: Getting it right in adult residential care.
