Peer reviewing for academic journals

The Centre for Trials Research's Population Health and Social Care Meeting

The meeting will discuss how to get started as a peer reviewer, what makes a good peer review and what reviewers can gain from doing them.

Featuring:

  • Giulia Guariento, Senior Publisher for several Springer Nature journals, including Trials and Research Involvement and Engagement, will talk about the role and importance of peer reviewers.
  • Dr Nick Page – based in the DECIPHer Centre will talk about their own experience as a peer reviewer.
  • Dr Fiona Lugg-Widger – from CTR will also reflect on their own experiences of being a peer reviewer.

The last part of the meeting will signpost ways to get involved, such as mentoring schemes.
