Health and Care Research Wales – Public Engagement and Involvement Forum
We will be launching the Discover Your Role 2.0 – the new version of our national initiative that supports and empowers researchers and members of the public to contribute to health and social care research. We’ll be revealing our vision for the next phase and how you can get involved.
You’ll hear from our team about the three initial focus areas that will guide our public involvement efforts in the coming months:
Focus area 1 – Resources
We'll explore innovative strategies and practical models for improving how resources are allocated and utilised to support meaningful public involvement. This includes establishing a task and finish group, where we would like public members shaping and influencing the direction.
Focus area 2 – Inclusivity
A priority is to broaden involvement by engaging individuals from under-served communities. We’ll discuss plans to increase diversity among public contributors and ensure inclusive practices are embedded throughout the research process.
Focus area 7 – Discover Your Role Evaluation
We will introduce our new comprehensive evaluation framework designed to assess the outcomes, reach, and long-term impact of the Discover Your Role initiative.
This Forum is a space for open dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration. Whether you are an experienced public contributor, a researcher, or new to involvement, your voice matters.
We look forward to welcoming you and working together to ensure public involvement in Wales is inclusive, impactful, and meaningful.
