Understanding postpartum psychosis
The National Centre for Mental Health is hosting the third instalment of its Women's Winter Webinar series online discussing how reproductive events such as pregnancy, the menstrual cycle, and reproductive aging impact the mental health of women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB).
This session is open to the general public, not just health professionals and people with an interest in mental health research and are intended to raise awareness of these conditions.
This webinar will focus on postpartum psychosis, featuring speakers from Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) who will share research and lived experience perspectives on the condition.
Postpartum psychosis is a serious mental health illness that affects around one in 500 mothers, with symptoms typically developing within two weeks of childbirth. Hallucinations and rapidly changing moods are potential symptoms.
This webinar is being run by the National Centre for Mental Health if you have any questions, please contact the event team.
