Supporting collaboration between the Welsh NHS and the pharmaceutical industry - webinar

Partnerships between the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry are essential - not only for delivering faster access to life-changing treatments but also for unlocking expertise, capacity and innovation.

Following the publication of the Welsh NHS Confederation and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) joint guidance, this webinar will showcase existing collaborative working in Wales and offer practical ideas to help organisations develop, implement and evaluate partnerships to improve patient outcomes.

Partnerships showcased include:

  • The Cardiff and Vale Post Coronary Revascularisation Lipid Optimisation Service Collaborative Working Project (CWP), a secondary prevention cardiovascular disease Collaborative Working Project, between Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Novartis, Amgen, Recordati and Daiichi Sankyo, aiming for better patient outcomes, improved equity and access to services.
  • QuicDNA project, an initiative aimed at revolutionising lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, recognised for its innovative approach and transformative impact on healthcare in Wales. Funders included: Health and Care Research Wales, AstraZeneca, Moondance Initiative, Illumina, Amgen, Lilly, and Bayer.
