Advancing Healthcare Awards Cymru 2021 shortlist celebrates outstanding contribution to research delivery

Allied health professionals and healthcare scientists across Wales delivering research have been recognised as the shortlist for the Advancing Healthcare Awards (AHA) Cymru 2021 has been announced. 

There are eight categories to be awarded for the AHA Cymru 2021 in total, including the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Research Delivery, sponsored by Health and Care Research Wales

Three exceptional teams and individuals have been shortlisted: Dr Zoe Fisher, Lymphoedema Research Wales, and ‘Understanding Nutrition and Hydration Status Using Bioelectrical Impedance Analytics’ within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.  

Dr Nicola Williams, Director of Support & Delivery at Health and Care Research Wales, will be part of the judging panel to decide the winner. 

She said: “The judges were impressed by the strong applications for this award, congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted.

“Through the Award for Outstanding Research Delivery, we will recognise an individual or a team who has shown extraordinary collaborative working across Wales as well as leadership in delivering research that has had a direct impact on improving the lives of patients and the public.” 

The AHA Cymru 2021 winners will be announced at an online ceremony on Friday 26 November from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. 

This will follow on from the Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists ‘All Wales’ Conference ‘A Healthier Wales: Moving forward together’, which will take place online the day before, on Thursday 25 November.
