Essential guide to the data access application process

22 May

The Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank, funded by Health and Care Research Wales, has created a video to explain its two-stage application process for researchers who would like to access data for high-quality research projects.

The application process is primarily aimed at existing and future users of SAIL, early career researchers and also students with an interest in health or administrative data research to provide more transparency about how to access SAIL data. Alongside this, it's aimed at the general public in order to increase transparency and trust.

The Transparency Standard Project, initiated by the UK Health Data Research Alliance and co-developed with Health Data Research UK's Public Advisory Board, offers guidance on informing the public and researchers about data access processes. SAIL Databank is one of 19 organisations awarded a grant to help adopt these standards.

Watch the new 'Access to Data' video which has been created for the Transparency Standard Project and is aimed at improving transparency for all SAIL stakeholders, or visit their website to find out more.
