Research Associate

Contract type: Fixed term until 30 April 2023

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Salary: £34,304 - £40,927 per annum

Cardiff University School of Social Sciences is seeking to recruit an experienced Research Associate to work within the Action for Children funded project, ‘Evaluating the Proof of Concept for Action for Children's Serious organised crime early intervention service. (a mixed methods study)'. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct and management of duties associated with the mixed methods study. This will include travel to four sites across England, Scotland and Wales to undertake qualitative interviews with young people with complex needs, parents and practitioners across a range of organisations. In addition, the post holder will participate in developing data collection tools including an online survey, qualitative case file analysis and quantitative analysis of service data.

Cardiff University School of Social Sciences is seeking to recruit an experienced Research Associate to work within the Health Care Research Wales funded project, ‘County lines: a coordinated Welsh community response to child criminal exploitation’ (exploratory study informed action research approach). The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct and management of duties associated with exploratory study. This will include coproduction of a toolkit aimed at enhancing service responses to children being or at risk of criminal exploitation. In addition, the post holder will participate in qualitative evaluation of the toolkit including research interviews with young people, parents professionals.
