An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Approvals team within the Health and Care Research Wales Support & Delivery Centre, to perform the role of Approvals Administrator for 12 months.
This role supports the Approvals Officers and Specialists in the delivery of the Health and Care Research Wales approvals plans and the operational running of a number of Research Ethics Committees (REC).
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate some knowledge and experience regarding the approvals process and the regulatory requirements surrounding the ethical and governance review - and some knowledge of the web-systems for managing the ethical review and governance assessments of applications and amendments.
Full training on the processes, regulatory requirements and web systems will be provided.
Specific work packages the administrator will be expected to support and deliver include:
- Assisting the Approvals Officer in Managing the REC agenda
- Preparing the study documentation for ethical review
- Supporting the amendments management process.
- Preparing and attending REC meetings
- Taking minutes of the REC meetings (full review, proportionate review and sub-committee meetings
- Managing Committee records in compliance with the Standard Operations Procedure for RECs in the UK and the Quality Assurance and Accreditation standards
