Health and Care Research Wales has funding opportunities available under the following scheme:
Social Care Research Fellowship Scheme
The fellowship aims to support individuals to become independent researchers through leading and undertaking high-quality research. The fellowship offers up to three years full-time funding (or four or five years part-time), to individuals who have no more than 60-months Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) postdoctoral research experience at the time of applying.
Applications will be invited from individuals working across any social- care-related or scientific discipline to undertake research which will benefit service users and/or carers, and social care and support services in Wales.
Applicants should show evidence of a clear commitment to a research career and demonstrate how the award will support their potential to become an independent researcher.
While any application meeting the general scheme remit and conforming to the Health and Care Research Wales ‘what is social care research?’ brief are eligible, for this call Health and Care Research Wales particularly welcomes applications addressing the following priority areas;
- align with the social care elements of the well-being objectives in the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government 2021-2026; and/or
- address the social care-related challenges set out in A Healthier Wales, the Welsh Government’s strategy for health and social care;
- address health and social care issues related to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the context of Programme for Government or A Healthier Wales
