One-time passcode for IRAS services on the NIHR Identity Gateway

20 July

The Health Research Authority is introducing the one-time passcode (OTP) to improve security for systems accessed via the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Identity Gateway. These include the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) services for e-submission of amendments, online Research Ethics Committee (REC) booking and combined review applications.

The change also applies to NIHR and Clinical Research Network (CRN) services, including the Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS).

When you attempt to sign into these systems, the email address linked to your account will be sent an OTP from identity@nihr.ac.uk.

The OTP is an automatically generated 6-digit code and you will need to use it to sign in within 15 minutes. Once you have signed in with your OTP, you will normally be able to access systems connected to the NIHR Identity Gateway for 30 days without an OTP.

For more information on OTP and how it works, visit the NIHR's Identity Gateway news page.
