Share your thoughts on the #SmokefreeUK campaign

8 November

Smoking is still the biggest cause of cancer and death in the UK. To address this, Cancer Research UK launched its #SmokefreeUK campaign in the summer of 2022 with the aim of encouraging government action to:

  • prevent young people from taking up smoking
  • help current smokers to quit.

Cancer Research UK would like to know if the campaign's messaging and imagery resonates with you, how it makes you feel, and whether it is clear. Your insights will help measure the impact of the #SmokefreeUK campaign messaging on a larger scale, to ensure the effectiveness the campaign whilst remaining sensitive to all audiences.

Cancer Research UK is particularly interested in hearing from people from the following groups:

  • Those that currently smoke, have previously smoked or know someone who smokes
  • People on lower incomes (for example, those who receive income support, are unemployed or retired)
  • People from LGBTQIA+ groups
  • People from ethnic minority groups
  • Anyone with a history of mental illness
