Your chance to shape the research culture in the NHS
20 November
Health and Care Research Wales is running workshops across Wales to support the development of a Welsh Government framework for NHS Research & Development (R&D).
Why an NHS R&D Framework?
- Research is part of NHS core activities, giving more patients access to new treatments and better health outcomes. NHS Wales supports a wide range of research across all disease and specialty areas, in secondary and primary care, and in population and public health.
- It is timely to consider what ‘good’ looks like in a research active NHS organisation. This will help develop a stronger research culture in NHS Wales.
- To do this, Health and Care Research Wales is developing a Welsh Government R&D framework to outline the role of NHS Wales in relation to research.
- The Framework will be used by NHS organisations to help embed research into core healthcare services, develop a strong research culture and to shape indicators for performance for research active NHS organisations in the future.
How?
- The Framework will be developed by Health and Care Research Wales through a process of creative consultation with NHS colleagues and wider partners.
- Health and Care Research Wales is running four face to face facilitated workshops. These offer you the chance to influence the content of the Framework and the way it is implemented.
- We invite colleagues from all different levels, backgrounds, and areas of business such as R&D, Innovation & Improvement, Medical Directorate, Nursing & AHPs, Therapies & Healthcare Sciences, Finance, Planning, Quality & Safety, W&OD, Patient & Carer Experience.
When?
- The Framework will be developed in early 2023, launched by Welsh Government through a Welsh Health Circular in March, to start implementation in April 2023.
The final workshop date is:
24 January 09.30 - 12.30 Virtual online event
We value your expertise to ensure the Framework is fit for purpose in meeting its intended aims.
