Project title: Determining the optimal intervention protocol to promote language development for children born with a cleft
Biography
Sharon Baker is a Speech and Language Therapist working at the Welsh Centre for Cleft Lip and Palate in Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Sharon has previously conducted research examining the relationship between hearing difficulties and speech development in children born with a cleft, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on language development in children born with a cleft. She has also worked at the Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit as a research associate, reviewing screening for speech, language and communication needs in children in Wales aged birth to 5 years.
Sharon’s PhD fellowship aims to determine what is the optimum intervention protocol to promote language development for children born with a cleft.
