Provide your views on applications for the Health and Care Research Wales Awards 2025
The Health and Care Research Wales Awards 2025 will celebrate the achievements of the research community in Wales over the past 12 months.
A judging panel will decide the winner for each of the four categories and the results will be announced at the Health and Care Research Wales conference on 10 October at Sophia Gardens.
The winner of each category will receive a funding award of up to £250 to attend a training course, conference, workshop, or similar event to develop an area of their research skillset.

- What experience do I need to help?
- Have an interest or experience in reviewing award applications
- Can attend online panel meetings in September 2025
- What will I be asked to do?
You will be invited to join one of the four award panels taking place in September 2025. Your role will be to review all the applications for the award and score each one according to the guidelines. When submitting your expression of interest, please let us know which award panel you'd like to be a part of.
- How long will I be needed for?
You will be asked to review all applications submitted for each award. Time taken to review these depends on how many applications received. You will also be asked to attend one of the following panel meetings, which will last 1.5 hours.
- Embedding research in practice award – 10 September 10am-11:30am
- Public involvement award – 10 September 2pm – 3:30pm
- Health and social care impact award – 11 September 10am – 11:30am
- Research rising star award – 11 September 2pm – 3:30pm

- What support is offered?
- Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs
- Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits)
- You will be supported by a member of the Communications, Engagement and Involvement team to attend the panel meeting
