Cancer R&D Strategy Lead

Velindre Cancer Research Centre are seeking an outstanding and dynamic person, experienced in driving cancer research strategy through to implementation.

This is an exceptional and exciting opportunity to be a part of a senior research leadership team that will be driving and developing lasting cancer research partnerships across NHS Wales and Higher Education, shaping the development of new new Cardiff Cancer Research Hub (CCRH) infrastructure, and providing innovative cancer research opportunities for patients in Wales.

The role will have high level oversight of CCRH operational matters, developing a CCRH financial strategy with leaders developing associated business cases to ensure long term sustainability for the new CCRH infrastructure and workforce.

The post will develop, implement and direct the emerging CCRH, a physical facility based at the University of Wales Heath Park site, to enable the delivery of novel and advanced therapy clinical trials and develop translational research with our NHS (Cardiff and Vale University Health Board) and academic (Cardiff University) partners.
